Keynote Session 3: Exploring the Potential of Carbon Nanostructures in Biomedical Application through Molecular Modelling<\/strong><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”16px” text_orientation=”justified” global_colors_info=”{}”]Prof. Dr. Tony Ibnu Sumaryada is a Professor of Theoretical and Computational Physics at IPB University, Indonesia. He finished his undergraduate and master degree in physics from University of Indonesia, and the Ph.D degree in Theoretical Physics from Florida State University USA in 2007.<\/p>\n His research mostly concentrated on computational physics at mesoscopic scale, including molecular modelling, biosensors, and multijunction solar cells. The exploration of the potential of various carbon nanostructures such as graphene oxide and fullerenes as a biosensor and spike glycoprotein inhibitor are some of his active research recently.<\/p>\n Other researches including folding-unfolding mechanism of protein through molecular dynamics simulation and molecular interaction analysis of drug candidate through a docking simulation. [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”16px” text_orientation=”justified” animation_style=”flip” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n Carbon nanostructures such as carbon dots, graphenes, fullerenes have been known to have superior physical properties and almost limitless application. The molecular modelling approach has been done to explore the potential of some carbon nanostructures in biomedical applications. Some possible applications of carbon nanostructures for biomedical purposes are also discussed here. Graphene oxide and fullerenes can be used as immobilizer of glucose oxidase enzyme for glucose biosensor application.
